What do you think of when you hear ... well being? I love to help people.

With that, I get to help our group with ... you guess it, well being.

Webster's defines well being as "the state of being happy, healthy, or prosperous". I have to agree with the first two but I have to disagree with the third one.

Here is why - Have you ever been to a third world country? I have. We in America, are some of the richest if not the richest people in the world. We are also some of the unhappiest people in the world. We have alot of people on anti-depression meds. We have alot of people on drugs. We also have alot of alcoholics in our midst. Why is this so if we are the most "prosperous" people in the world?

Back to well being. I am excited to help our small group with their well being. If you are in our group going to Haiti this year, I commit to making sure you are as comfortable as you can be in a third world country. Believe me, some days you might think I am not doing a very good job because its hot and you are sweating or you are not feeling well. Know that you are being cared for by a group who loves God and is serving Him right next to you. Sometimes it is not easy, but it was not easy when Jesus walked on the earth either.

Keep you head held high, pray continually, drink lots of water, love on the kids (you will have an impossible time not loving those kids) and God will bless your socks off!

Well ... to Haiti again in 2012!!!

I am excited to tell you that i am going to Haiti again this year.  We have a group of 15 from our church who are traveling to Mole' St Nicholas Haiti.  Mole' is in the very north west tip of Haiti and lies just 50 miles from the coast of Cuba.

We will be visiting Center Orphanage that was started by Pastor Elivert Etienne.  Pastor Etienne and I have become good friends this year.  We talk on the phone quite often and I look forward to meeting his family.

WERE BACK!!

Hey Guys!

We're back! This trip was AMAZING!! We had the most awesome team ever! I was surprised how much our team bonded while we where the we're just one big family now! When we got to the orphanage it was crazy just trying to get everything set up... It was about to rain. After we got a little settled in we got to see how the orphanage was run kinda. I noticed there was a momma of the kids but she was always back in the back cooking or something back there, The kids just kinda take care of each other. Its cool to see the relationships between the kids. Also when we got there the kids just clung to us it was really cool to see, They loved us right away they had no idea who we were but it didn't matter to them.

DAY 1 JOURNALING

The First time I flew was not the best I got sick to my stomach. Thankfully I got to sit next to dad so that helped a little also Philippians 4:13 helped a lot. It got better after the 2nd flight, we had 45 mins in Dallas which was just enough time instead of 15 it was just enough time to get off the plane and get to and on the next so that was GOOD! When we got to Miami, we had like a 4 hour layover so that was pretty boring... Then we boarded the plane. When we got to Port-au-Prince it was CRAZY!!! There were people all over the place. It was CHAOS!!  And that was just in the baggage claim place where we got out luggage. When we got out to the walk way to go to the car the were people called "Red Hats". The want to help you with your luggage they like try and grab it from you when you don't want the to help then expect to get paid in big money even when you told them NO! when we finally got threw that mess we all loaded up to go to the guest house where we were staying the night, The women in a closed van and the men and the luggage went in the back of a truck  with a cage thing around it. And we LEFT the craziness! Then when we were on the road the first time we stoped and a little kid came up and was begging for food and money so we gave him a little snack and we were on are way. Then the next time we stopped more and more kids just kept coming up and begging we finally left and the kids tried hanging on to the back of the car but they finally stopped when we went fast enough they left. When we got to  the guest house we ate dinner then hung out for a while  then everybody pretty much went to bed.

Heyy!!

There's only  16 days till we leave!!!! I'm so excited! :D Thank You everyone who has donated to help us go we only have $325 left to raise!! My dad and I got our shots yesterday... uhhhgg I don't like shots very much.  One of the other young girl that is going threatened to laugh at me if I cried!  Well, I didn't cry but I almost passed out.  One of the ladies that is going with us is a nurse and she is the one who gave us the shots.  I am glad that we have a nurse going with us just in case anybody has a problem. The weather is supposed to be pretty nice while we are there so it will be fun... were gonna take the kids to the beach one day!! We might get to go snorkel while we are at the beach and get to see the coral and fishheeeesss! ;-)

More Later,
